A Dearborn Heights man is feeling a chill after winning $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Ice Cold Cash instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at Dearborn Heights Liquor, located at 25322 West Warren Street in Dearborn Heights.
The player visited Lottery headquarters Monday to claim the big prize. The winner, an aspiring chef, plans to pay off his home and student loans, and invest the rest in opening his own restaurant.
Players have won nearly $3.3 million playing Ice Cold Cash, which launched in December. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. Nearly $8.8 million in prizes remain, including one $500,000 top prize, and four $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
