The player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her lucky ticket at the Citgo gas station, located at 341 County Street in Milan, while doing some holiday shopping on Nov. 28, 2014, the day after Thanksgiving.
The lucky woman visited Lottery headquarters this week with her crumpled up ticket to collect her big prize. She explained that the ticket was crumpled because she had slept with it in her hand the night she scratched the ticket. With her winnings, she plans to help pay for her children’s education and save the remainder for her retirement.
Surprise Package was one of four holiday themed instant games released last year. The $5 game gives players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 to $300,000. One $300,000 top prize, as well as five $1,000 prizes remain in the game.
Lottery instant game tickets may be purchased at retailers across the state.
