A Kalkaska County woman claimed a $2 million Lotto 47 jackpot from Nov. 8 with this $1 easy pick ticket.
Monday couldn’t come fast enough for a Kalkaska County woman who was eager to visit the Michigan Lottery’s headquarters after winning the $2 million Lotto 47 jackpot Saturday night.
The lucky player matched all six winning Lotto 47 numbers drawn Saturday night – 05-09-16-24-37-40 – to win the $2 million jackpot. The player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her lucky $1 easy pick ticket at Outlaw’s Bar and Grill, located at 4556 Northeast County Road 571 in Kalkaska.
The player chose to receive her winnings in a one-time lump sum payment of more than $1.3 million. She plans to purchase a vehicle for her teenaged son, and save the remainder of her windfall.
Saturday’s drawing marked the fifth time the Lotto 47 jackpot has been won this year. On Sept. 27 an Oakland County woman won $6 million, the game’s largest jackpot of the year. Other Lotto 47 jackpot winners this year were:
- March 19 – Oakland County Lottery Club, $5.5 million
- May 21 – Jeff LeBar, of Manistique, $3.3 million
- June 14 – A Macomb County man, who chose to remain anonymous, $1.3 million
Each Lotto 47 play is only $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million that grows until someone wins it. For an additional $1 per game, players may add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Lotto 47 drawings take place on Wednesday and Saturday at 7:29 p.m. The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is $1 million.
