A lucky player from the Thumb region has claimed a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s popular $500,000 Cashword instant game.

The winner, from Lexington in Sanilac County, collected the big prize on Wednesday at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, plans to pay off debts with the prize money.

The lucky player bought the winning ticket at Sunrise Store #22, which is located at 7434 Lakeshore Drive in Lexington.

The $500,000 Cashword game ticket offers players the chance to reveal up to 10 words in three play areas to win prizes from $10 to $500,000. There is also an opportunity for Cashword players to win prizes with a non-winning ticket. Players can save their non-winning ticket, go to MyMICashword.com and play for second chance prizes.  These prizes include Players Club Reward Points or up to $500 in free play!
