The revamped Powerball game has turned 24 lucky Michigan Lottery players into millionaires, including Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, who won $337 million, the largest ever Lottery prize in Michigan.
Based on player feedback, the Powerball was updated on Jan. 18, 2012 to improve the overall odds of winning a prize, increase the starting jackpot from $12 million to $40 million, and boost the match-5 prize minimum to $1 million and a maximum of $2 million.
In the two years since it was updated, the Powerball game has created 1,000 millionaires nationwide.
