“Black Friday” was a red letter day for Eartha Grant of Harper Woods. That was the day she won the Fantasy 5 jackpot of $110k.

Grant, a homemaker, was watching television with her husband and family when the numbers were shown on TV. She has been playing the same numbers for a long time so she was immediately aware that she was a winner. But in the spirit of fun, she decided to play a joke on her family by telling them she hadn’t won. Then, when she told them she actually had won, they didn’t believe her!

However, they didn’t doubt Grant for long. She couldn’t contain her joy in winning and when she ran around the house screaming, her family was convinced. One of her five children said “Mom, we’re going to have the best Christmas ever!”

The winning ticket was sold at Paul’s Liquor Market located at 24404 Gratiot Ave. in Eastpointe.
