Warren Martin of Three Rivers, didn’t know it was his lucky day until his wife called him screaming! At first he was worried that she was having trouble because of a recent surgery, but she quickly told him to come home because he was a Mega Millions winner of $250,000!
Martin wasn’t so sure, so he went home to double check the ticket. He found that the numbers he had picked, his badge number, the number of his favorite baseball player and some significant dates, along with two numbers that he chose out of the blue, had made him a winner. His wife Nurie was overjoyed, but Martin, a former police officer and U.S. government worker, took a wait and see attitude until he had the check in hand. Once he saw the check, he gave Lottery employees a big smile and said “This is a blessing.”
Martin intends to use his winnings to pay off his mortgage, pay medical bills and take a trip to Kosova, where he met his wife and where her family still lives.
The winning ticket was sold at Three Rivers West Shell located at 1223 W. Michigan Ave. in Three Rivers.
