Tick Tock! A $250,000 unclaimed Mega Millions ticket is about to expire!

Michigan Lottery Mega MillionsA Lottery player could miss out of a $250,000 prize if he or she fails to claim a Mega Millions ticket that is set to expire soon!

The ticket, from the March 11, 2011 drawing, is worth $250,000. The winning ticket was purchased at the Spee-D-Mart Shell #1950 located at 215 E. Chicago Rd. in White Pigeon.

The winning numbers were 14-19-21-42-45 Gold Mega Ball 06 and the Megaplier was 2x. The winner must match the first five numbers exactly as shown to win the prize and must have the original ticket.

The prize will expire on Monday, March 12, 2012.  The winner must contact the Lottery’s Public Relations Division at (517)373-1237 to set up an appointment to claim the prize.  The prize must be claimed by 4 p.m. on the expiration date.

Mega Millions tickets and all other terminal-based tickets are valid one year from the draw date. If the prize goes unclaimed, the money will be deposited into the state School Aid Fund, which is the beneficiary of all Lottery profits.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
