Lottery player from Yale claims huge Club Keno prize!

LANSING, May 6, 2011 – A regular Michigan Lottery player from Yale won $82,938 while playing The Jack, an add-on game to Club Keno.

The player didn’t believe it at first and remained calm as they didn’t want to make a scene. The ticket was carefully hidden in a wallet until the winner claimed the prize at Lottery Central in Lansing.

The player plans to put a down payment on a house and buy some new fishing equipment with the prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Yale Tavern, 11 S. Main St., in Yale.

Over 94 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2010, the contribution to schools was $701.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
