Raffle winners continue collecting big prizes!

LANSING, January 29, 2010 – Seven more winners traveled to Lansing this week to collect prizes won on the Millionaire Raffle.

Since the January 20 drawing, the Michigan Lottery has paid over $6 million to winners. Only one top prize worth $1 million remains unclaimed.

Three lucky winners, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed $1 million prizes on tickets purchased at the Smokers Cigarette King, 28927 Southfield Rd., in Lathrup Village; Discount Beverages, 8673 N. Lilley Rd., in Canton; and VG’s Food #1921, 18005 Silver Parkway, in Fenton.

Four other anonymous winners claimed $100,000 prizes on tickets purchased at Sav-On Drugs Westland, 190 S. Wayne Rd., in Westland; Michaels Wine Shoppe, 215 S. Main St., in Clawson; Bailey Country Store, 1547 Newaygo Rd., in Bailey; and Cal’s Party Store, 123 Genesee St., in Marquette.

Winners claiming other top prizes include the BCEP Lottery Club from St. Clair Shores that claimed a $1 million prize on a ticket purchased at Smokers Outlet of Waterford, 5655 Dixie Hwy., in Waterford and an anonymous winner who claimed a $1 million prize on a ticket sold from Kroger #487, 31 E. Long Lake Rd., in Troy.

Additionally, John Smith from Cheboygan won $100,000 on a ticket purchased at the Topinabee Market, 1541 N. Straits Hwy., in Topinabee; Brian Wiatrolik claimed $100,000 on a ticket purchased at Themar #14, 26778 M 43, in Paw Paw; Soteros Boloven claimed $100,000 on a ticket purchased at Joy Tobacco, Inc., 25655 Joy Rd., in Dearborn Heights; and five lucky players, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed $100,000 each on tickets purchased at Kroger #673, 2260 18 Mile Rd., in Sterling Heights and Smokers Only, 42369 Garfield Rd., in Clinton Township; the Kawkawlin Party Shop, 105 Grove St., in Kawkawlin; Reem’s Mini Mart Inc., 4545 W. Grand River Ave., in Howell; and Efros Drugs, 6427 Orchard Lake Rd., in West Bloomfield.

Results of the Millionaire Raffle drawing are posted on the Lottery’s Web site, https://www.michiganlottery.com/. Players can also have their tickets validated by a Michigan Lottery retailer or at one of the Lottery’s regional offices around the state.

The Millionaire Raffle drawing on January 20 featured six top prizes of $1 million each, 12 prizes of $100,000, 2,000 prizes of $500 and 4,000 prizes of $100.

Over 98.5 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
