Super Red Hot Cashword prize claimed

LANSING, October 30, 2008 – A Troy resident is $10,000 richer after scratching a winning Super Red Hot Cashword instant ticket.

Kevin Rudzinski hid the winning ticket in his basement before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights regional office.

The regular Lottery player has no immediate plans for the prize money.

Rudzinski purchased the winning ticket at Rochester Hills Oil, Inc., 1020 W. Auburn Rd., in Rochester.

Super Red Hot Cashword  is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
