LANSING, September 7, 2007 – A lucky pair won big with the Mega Millions game when they matched the five white ball numbers, without matching the Mega ball, to win a whopping $250,000!
The Gomad Club from Deland, Florida has been playing the Lottery for about seven years. This is their largest win to date. The club members plan to invest their prize money.
The winners, who were “in instant shock” when they discovered their ticket was a winner, carried the ticket with them over the Labor Day weekend, even across the Mackinaw Bridge.
The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Bellaire General Store, 611 E. Cayuga St., in Bellaire.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
