Clinton Township winner claims prize

LANSING, September 5, 2007 – Sheryl Demankowski is a very lucky lady!  She cashed in a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $10,000!

She matched four white balls and the Mega ball to win the prize in the August 28 drawing.

The lucky lady said she saw her winning numbers in the Detroit News and plans to put the money in her savings account.

The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Calumet Market & Spirits, 300 Renaissance Ctr. 13, in Detroit.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
