Pleasant Lake man strikes it rich

LANSING, August 31, 2007 – Matching nine of 10 numbers in a Club Keno game proved lucky for David Johnson of Pleasant Lake!

Normally the prize for matching nine of 10 numbers is $5,000, but Johnson picked the Kicker option and multiplied his prize by 4X to bring the total to $20,000!

Johnson picked his own number at random and plans to “go have a beer” with his prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at McThirsty Pub & Grub, Inc., 2214 E. Ganson, in Jackson.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
