Mega Millions jackpot bumped to $206 million!

LANSING, August 24, 2007 – High ticket sales have raised the Mega Millions jackpot to $206 million for tonight’s drawing.

The previously announced jackpot for the drawing was $201 million, but that amount was upped on Friday afternoon.  Mega Millions tickets must be purchased by 10:45 p.m. for the 11 p.m. drawing and are available at any of the Lottery’s over 11,000 retailers.

If a player wins tonight’s $206 million jackpot and chooses the annuity payment option, he or she will receive a whopping $7.9 million per year for 26 years, less taxes! That breaks down to $660,000 per month; $152,000 per week; $21,000 per day; and $2,625 per day for an eight-hour day!

If a winner prefers the prize in one payment, the amount is $120.5 million, less taxes.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million. For additional information, please visit the Lottery’s Web site at
