LANSING, August 23, 2007 – Staring at the winning ticket, her hand shaking, Karen Morris realized she had just won $1 million!
The lucky Sturgis woman scratched a Casino Multiplier to win the second of two top $1 million prizes. She and her husband Thomas were thrilled.
Morris, who has played the Lottery regularly for 15 years, said she plans to use the prize money to make some home improvements, invest and pay off her house and car.
The winning ticket was purchased at Carl’s Northland Oil, 27010 E. Fawn River Rd., in Sturgis.
Casino Multiplier is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
