Detroit woman wins Cashword prize

LANSING, August 23, 2007 – A very lucky winner has claimed $35,000 after she scratched a winning Cashword Instant ticket.

Katina Smith cried when she realized her ticket was a big winner.  She hid the ticket under her pillow until claiming her prize at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Foster’s Market, 14800 Wyoming St., in Detroit.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
