Fenton man wins big

LANSING, July 5, 2007 – Stephen Donnelly was “happy” when he matched four white ball numbers, plus the Mega ball in the Mega Millions game.

Donnelly won $10,000 for his match. He has been playing the same “own pick” numbers for the past 20 years. He plans to use his prize money to pay bills.

The winning ticket was purchased on June 26 at M&K Food Market, 505 South Blvd. E, in Pontiac.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
