LANSING, June 4, 2007 – The huge jackpot just keeps getting bigger!  Since no one matched all six numbers on Saturday night, the Classic Lotto 47 jackpot has grown to a whopping $9.7 million, the largest in the game’s history!

Sixteen tickets matched five or six numbers to win $2,500 each.  Saturday’s winning numbers were 05-08-16-19-35 and 40.  The next drawing is Wednesday.

Classic Lotto 47 is a six digit game drawn Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Jackpots begin at $1 million and increase by $100,000 in every drawing.  The game began May 15, 2005.

The previous record jackpot was $7,691,973, which was won on October 18, 2006 by a player from Sterling Heights.

Classic Lotto 47 tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Wednesday night’s drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. on Wednesday.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
