LANSING, May 31, 2007 – A Garden City Schools employee is $10,000 richer, thanks to the Mega Millions game. Marianne Lamborne matched four white ball numbers and the Mega ball number to win the third-tier prize.
The May 22 own pick ticket was claimed at the Lottery’s Dearborn Heights office and will be used to pay for higher education expenses for the winner’s children.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Hunter & Wayne Liquor, 35201 Hunter St., in Westland.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
