LANSING, March 19, 2007 – A very lucky Douglas woman is $35,000 richer after she scratched a winning Cashword Instant ticket.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said she was “shocked” to win. She hid the ticket in a drawer and has no immediate plans for the prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Demonds Super Value, 237 Center St., in Douglas.
Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
