LANSING, March 19, 2007 – A very lucky winner claimed $250,000 after scratching a Cashino Instant ticket!
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he was shaking when he took his ticket into the store where he purchased it to verify it was a big winner.
He hid the ticket in his glove compartment and even slept with it in his pillowcase the night before cashing it in at Lottery Central.
The winner, who said he plays the Lottery occasionally, enjoys playing Instant games, Mega Millions and Club Keno. He plans to use the money to pay off his new car, invest, make home improvements and pay off his girlfriend’s engagement ring.
The lucky ticket was purchased at West Side Shell, 480 W. Chicago St., in Coldwater.
Cashino is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
