Vacation planned after $10,000 win

LANSING, March 12, 2007 – Dale Holmes of Fort Gratiot matched four white numbers and the gold Mega number to win a $10,000 Mega Millions prize.

Holmes is planning on paying bills and taking a vacation with his Feb. 27 easy pick win.  In his free time, the retired 62-year-old enjoys sports, fishing and reading.

Holmes purchased the lucky winning ticket at D Brothers Party Store #11, 3030 N. River Rd., in Ft. Gratiot.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
