LANSING, March 12, 2007 – Linda Certain of Dearborn cashed in a winning $10,000 Mega Millions ticket today at the Lottery’s Dearborn Heights office. Certain matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the March 6 drawing to win the prize.
The retiree has played the Lottery since this beginning and this is her largest win to date. She told Lottery officials that she was in disbelief after reading of her good fortune in the newspaper.
She plans to use the easy pick winnings to pay bills. Certain enjoys beading, quilting, gardening, and reading in her free time.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Saroki’s Party Store, 2163-2167 N. Wixom Rd., in Wixom.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
