LANSING, March 12, 2007 – A very lucky regular Mega Millions player won a $10,000 prize in the March 6 drawing! Laurence Delcourt of Washington matched four white numbers and the gold Mega number to win the prize.
The 48-year-old salesman has played the Lottery for the last five year. He hid his easy pick ticket in an envelope before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office.
Delcourt purchased the lucky winning ticket at Cy’s Food Center #2, 33090 Groesbeck Hwy., in Fraser.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
