LANSING, March 1, 2007 – James Maurice of Marne won big when he scratched a winning Cashword Instant ticket worth $35,000

Maurice said he has been playing the Lottery for “a long time” and this is his largest win to date.

He hid the ticket in his front pocket and plans to use the money to pay bills.  In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Next Door Food Store #52, 14226 Ironwood Dr., in Grand Rapids.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
