Plymouth man claims $10,000 prize

LANSING, January 5, 2007 – A very lucky 45-year-old claimed a $10,000 prize by matching four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball number in the Dec. 26 Mega Millions game.

Lawrence Matheson is a regular Lottery player who was excited with this win. He plans to use his easy pick winnings to pay bills after Christmas.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Speedway #2203, 15255 Sheldon, in Plymouth.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
