Longtime player wins $10,000

LANSING, January 5, 2007 – Eric Choluj from Sterling Heights was “happy” when he discovered that his Dec. 22 Mega Millions ticket was worth $10,000! Choluj matched four white ball numbers and the Mega ball to win the prize.

The lucky winner hid the ticket in his wallet before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office. He plans to take a trip with his prize money.

The winning own pick ticket was purchased at Cheers Liquor & Deli, 12344 E. 8 Mile Rd., in Detroit.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
