Winner claims big prize

LANSING, October 13, 2006 – A very lucky Detroit man claimed $33,000 when he scratched a winning Tripling Red Bingo ticket.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he plans to “save the money for a rainy day.”  He has been playing the Lottery for 30 years and this is his largest win to date.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mannones Market, 2732 Chene St., in Detroit.

Tripling Red Bingo is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
