LANSING, October 4, 2006 – A very lucky Westland man claimed $234,600 after matching all five numbers in the Sept. 16 Fantasy 5 drawing.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he played his own “lucky” numbers which include his birth date and the date he was drafted into the Army.
He was “dumbfounded” when he saw his winning numbers in the newspaper. He plans to use the prize money to fix up a house he just purchased and give to charity.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at KL & WL Investment Inc., 2646 S. Wayne Rd., in Westland.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
