LANSING, June 22, 2006 – Justyne Manning is $15,022 richer after she won big playing Club Keno.
Manning said she was bowling when she saw her numbers appear on the screen. She has been playing the Lottery for about one year and this is her largest win to date.
She matched nine of 10 numbers in a 10-Spot game, which usually pays $5,000, but since she purchased the Kicker option, the prize multiplied to $15,000!
The lucky winner purchased the ticket at Woodland Lanes Inc., 33775 Plymouth, in Livonia.
Immediately before each Club Keno drawing, a wheel spins on the Club Keno monitor selects a Kicker number of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. Players can select the Kicker box on their play slip and pay $1 for each dollar originally wagered. Wins on regular Club Keno drawings will be multiplied by the Kicker number, allowing players the chance to win up to 10 times their original prize amount.
Kicker began on November 20, 2005 in all 2,000 locations selling Club Keno.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
