Munising Man Wins $17,197 Michigan Rolldown Jackpot Prize!

LANSING, April 11, 2003 – A Munising man is rolling in dough after matching all five numbers in the April 1 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $17,197 prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 2, 10, 14, 18 and 26.

In total for the April 1 drawing, 17,914 winners shared $58,245 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 95 winners matched four numbers to win a $74 prize; 1,800 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 16,018 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The 72-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at New Baltimore Town & Country,
36011 Green St., in New Baltimore.

"WOW!" said the winner. "I can’t believe that I won a jackpot prize!"

The lucky retiree said he chose his winning number combination based upon the birthdates of his children and grandchildren.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, the winner said he kept it in his wallet at all times to ensure its safety.

The lucky man, who is an active member in his church and senior club and enjoys walking and swimming in his spare time, said he plans to invest part of his winnings and donate the rest to his church.

The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. The cost to play is $1.00 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
