LANSING, April 10, 2003 – A lucky Flint man recently became the newest Michigan Lottery multi-millionaire, thanks to the Lottery’s WINFALL game! He matched all six numbers in the March 26 WINFALL drawing to win a $2.3 million jackpot. The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 11, 14, 20, 25, 42 and 49.
The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Meijer #29, 2333 S. Center Road, in Burton.
"I looked up the winning numbers while reading the Flint Journal," said the winner. "I was surprised to learn that all six winning numbers matched the numbers on my ticket!"
The winner selected annuity payments for his jackpot winnings. He collected his first installment check of $78,600 (before taxes) during his recent visit to Michigan Lottery headquarters, to be followed by 29 annual installments of $76,600 per year (before taxes).
The happy Flint man said he plans to "just enjoy" part of his winnings and invest the rest for the future.
WINFALL drawings are held twice a week — Wednesday and Saturday — at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,200 Lottery retailers statewide.
Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has returned over $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in the state of Michigan.
