LANSING, February 6, 2003 – Cynthia McMahon of Royal Oak is rolling in the dough after matching all five numbers in the January 25 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $13,567 prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 6, 12, 20, 23 and 29.
In total for the January 25 drawing, 14,842 winners shared $46,969 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 63 winners matched four numbers to win an $88 prize; 1,635 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 13,143 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The 52-year-old winner purchased the winning “easy-pick” ticket at Royal Spirits, 3030 Rochester Road, in Royal Oak.
The lucky winner, who works as a resident aide at St. Anne’s Mead, said she looked up the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery).
McMahon, who enjoys participating in church activities, crocheting and volunteering at a local nursing home in her spare time, told Lottery officials that she kept the winning ticket safely tucked in a book prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights. She told Lottery officials she plans to use her winnings to pay bills, make a donation to her church, and share with her children.
The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. The cost to play is $1.00 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
