LANSING, January 8, 2003 – A Schoolcraft man went wild with excitement upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Casino Wild" instant ticket to reveal a $100,000 top prize!
"After I scratched it off I thought I had won a $10,000 prize," said the 47-year-old winner. "My wife double-checked the ticket and told me that I had actually won a $100,000 top prize. I was shocked!"
The lucky winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Hardings Market, 139 N. Grand St., in Schoolcraft.
He said he kept the winning ticket locked in a filing cabinet to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. The winner, who said he enjoys bowling and watching movies in his spare time, plans to use his winnings to pay bills and purchase a truck.
"You have to play to win," he stated. "Who knows when lady luck is going to smile on you!"
"Casino Wild" is one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
