LANSING, January 8, 2003 – Arthur Lambert of Sterling Heights is rolling in dough after matching all five numbers in the December 23 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $15,630 jackpot! The winning numbers for that drawing were: 7, 8, 12, 14 and 20.
In total for the December 23 drawing, 17,787 winners shared $54,752 in prizes. In addition to the jackpot winner, 80 winners matched four numbers to win an $80 prize; 1,877 winners matched three numbers and to win a $9 prize; and 15,829 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The 55-year-old manager for Marshall Fields learned he held a jackpot-winning ticket after checking the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site. The winning “easy pick” ticket was purchased at Good Times Party Store, 22900 Harper Ave., in St. Clair Shores.
“I was surprised that I won the jackpot prize,” exclaimed Lambert. “In the past, I have matched four of five numbers in Rolldown, but this is my first Rolldown jackpot win. I am excited to win!”
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, the lucky winner said he kept the ticket locked in a safe deposit box. Lambert, who enjoys golfing in his free time, added that he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
