LANSING, August 27, 2002 – Patricia Dobrzelewski of Sterling Heights said she was "stunned but ecstatic" to learn she had matched all five numbers in the August 15 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $15,447 jackpot! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 3, 10, 13, 17 and 27.
In total for the August 16 Michigan Rolldown drawing, there were 17,940 winners who shared $53,150 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, there were 78 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $81; 1,932 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $8; and 15,929 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.
The 66-year-old retiree purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown ticket at Speedway #2344, 2980 John R Road, in Troy.
The lucky lady, who enjoys working on ceramics projects in
her free time, said she saw the winning numbers while watching the Michigan Rolldown drawing on WDIV-TV 4.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, the winner said she kept it hidden behind a photograph of her mother to ensure its safety. Dobrzelewski said she plans to use her winnings to make home improvements.
