In total for the July 31 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 14,663 winners shared $49,972 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 39 winners matched four numbers to win a $158 prize; 1,417 matched three numbers to win an $11 prize; and 13,206 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The lucky "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Marathon Mini Mart, 688 W. Huron St., in Pontiac.

"I looked up the winning numbers in the newspaper and compared them to the numbers on my ticket," Carter said. "After I realized I had a winning ticket, I immediately signed the ticket and put it in my pocket to keep it safe!"

The lucky winner, who works as a truck driver for General Motors and Penske and enjoys bowling in his free time, said he has no specific plans for his winnings at this time, but there is no doubt he and his wife, Sharon, will enjoy their recent Lottery luck!

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
