LANSING, July 12, 2002 – A lucky Bloomfield Hills woman recently chose a winning number combination that matched all five numbers in the July 8 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $15,373 jackpot prize! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 1, 2, 3, 7 and 20.
In total for the July 8 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 17,044 winners shared $52,079 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 68 winners matched four numbers to win a $92 prize; 1,925 winners matched three numbers to win an $8 prize; and 15,050 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The lucky jackpot-winning ticket was purchased at Kroger #434, 3675 W. Maple Road, in Bloomfield Hills.
"I thought I had written the winning numbers down incorrectly," the winner said. "I looked up the numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery) to verify that I really did have a winning ticket!"
The 52-year-old homemaker, who requested anonymity, said she enjoys knitting in her free time, and added that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
