LANSING, May 15, 2002 – A lucky Taylor man is rolling in dough after matching all five numbers in the April 30 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a jackpot worth $17,506, before taxes! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 1, 10, 22, 28 and 29.

In total for the April 30 drawing, 17,835 winners shared $58,770 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 55 winners matched four numbers to win a $130 prize; 1,815 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 15,964 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The winning “easy pick” ticket was purchased at Tobacco Plus & Cigars, 25744 Eureka Road, in Taylor.

“I looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery), and was completely surprised to see I had matched all five!” the winner said.

The lucky 28-year-old, who requested anonymity, is a maintenance worker at NWS Michigan who said he enjoys boating in his free time. He said he kept the winning ticket hidden in a dresser drawer to ensure its safety before claiming his prize at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. He added that he plans to use his winnings toward the purchase of a home.

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week-Monday through Saturday-at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
