LANSING, May 1, 2002 – A lucky Durand woman spelled her way to instant wealth with the Michigan Lottery’s "Bingo Mania" instant game! Upon scratching off the ticket she revealed a $300,000 top prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hansens Quik Stop #15, 8998 E. M-21, in Ovid.

"I was in my living room at home when I scratched off the ticket," the winner said. "When I realized I had won $300,000, I went numb. I was in total shock! I just couldn’t believe it, so I called Lottery headquarters to verify that I had a winning ticket. I am still in disbelief!"

The lucky lady, who requested anonymity, said she kept her winning ticket hidden in a drawer before turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. She said she plans to use her winnings to make home improvements, and added that she encourages other Lottery players to just "keep hoping!"

"Bingo Mania" is just one of many instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
