LANSING, April 23, 2002 – Judy Loofborow of Brooklyn was pleasantly surprised to discover a Big Game ticket she had purchased for the April 16 drawing was worth $150,000! Loofborow matched the first five numbers in the April 16 drawing to win a $150,000 prize. The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 7, 10, 25, 26, 27 and the Big Money Ball number was 23.
The winning ticket was purchased at Wesco #11, 10409 Brooklyn Road, in Brooklyn.
"I saw the winning Big Game numbers on WILX TV-10, and I realized instantly the numbers looked familiar," Loofborow said. "When I checked the ticket I had purchased, I couldn’t believe the first five numbers matched!"
Loofborow, who works as a client services representative for Hardwood Solutions, said she chose the winning number combination by using birthdays of her family members. She added that she kept the ticket tucked safely between two books on a bookcase in her house before claiming her prize at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. Loofborow added that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills, share with her family and to just "have fun!"
Loofborow advises other Lottery players not to give up on personal number combinations and to be patient, and they too may win big someday!
The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is tonight, Tuesday, April 23, with an expected jackpot of $7 million.
