Charlotte "Char" Boggs of Corunna Wins $150,000 Big Game Prize; Anticipation Grows as Jackpot Reaches $220 Million For Tomorrow's Drawing!

LANSING, April 11, 2002 – Charlotte "Char" Boggs of Corunna is glad she didn’t throw away a winning Big Game ticket worth $150,000 that had been lying on her kitchen counter since February! The winning numbers for the February 19 drawing were: 25, 27, 37, 40, 48 and the Big Money Ball number was 1.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Riverside Market, 311 N. Oak St., in Durand.

"My son convinced me to take the ticket to a local Meijer store to check the winning numbers for that drawing, even though there had been no jackpot winner," Boggs said. "When I found out I had won $150,000, I started screaming, right there in Meijer! The employee who verified that my ticket was a winner was a former co-worker of mine, and she gave me a high five and congratulated me!"

Boggs, 51, who raises dogs at her home, has never played Lottery games before, and said she was very surprised at her beginner’s luck! She added that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills, make home improvements and take a nice vacation.

"Don’t ever throw your Lottery tickets away!" Boggs advises other Lottery players. "Even if there is no jackpot winner, it pays to check the winning numbers!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Friday, April 12, with an expected jackpot of $220 million—the second largest jackpot in the Big Game’s history!
