Retirement Recently Became Sweeter For John Law of Milford Upon Collecting $150,000 Big Game Prize!

LANSING, April 5, 2002 – John Law of Milford and his family traveled to Lansing in style—complete with a limousine ride—to claim a $150,000 Big Game prize he won in the April 2 drawing! The winning Big Game numbers for that day’s drawing were: 34, 37, 38, 39, 42 and the Big Money Ball number was 21.

The winning ticket was purchased at Village Party Time Inc., 303 S. Main St., in Milford.

"I watched the drawing on television and realized right away that I had won," Law said. "My wife, Jane, was sleeping, so I woke her up to tell her the good news. We are both very excited!"

Law, a 74-year-old retiree from LaRiche Chevrolet, said he kept the winning ticket in his wallet to ensure its safety before claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. He added that he plans to share his winnings with his children, and possibly put a new roof on his home—courtesy of his son’s company, Renovations Roofing & Remodeling, Inc., in Highland.

Law encourages other Lottery players to keep playing Lottery games, because, "If you don’t play, you can’t win!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is tonight (Friday), April 5, with an expected jackpot of $117 million.
