LANSING, March 27, 2002 – Susan Schoenborn of Southgate said she was very thankful to win half of the March 7 Michigan Rolldown jackpot! The other half of the jackpot was claimed earlier this month by John Vincent of Canton. Each winner collected $10,835, before taxes. The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 12, 13, 19, 20 and 33.
The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Northline Petroleum Inc., 15300 Northline Road, in Southgate.
In total for the March 7 drawing, 23,126 winners shared $74,092 in prizes. In addition to the two jackpot winners; 78 winners matched four numbers to win a $114 prize; 2,276 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 20,770 winners matched two numbers to win $1.
"I looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery) and was so happy to see I had matched all five numbers!" Schoenborn said. "I called the Lottery’s headquarters to verify the numbers and when they assured me I was a winner, I started to thank God!"
The lucky 41-year-old office worker said she kept the winning ticket in her purse until claiming her prize at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. She also said she enjoys reading and working on her computer in her free time, and plans to save her winnings for the future.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are
available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide. Also, effective March 4 through March 30, Michigan Rolldown players can once again take advantage of the "Bonus Play" promotion, which offers players who purchase a ticket with five wagers or more an "easy pick" ticket—absolutely free! Players who purchase a 10-panel ticket will receive two free "easy picks."
