Big Game Prize Is Big Surprise For Jim Herron!

LANSING, July 2, 2001 — Jim Herron of Clinton Township couldn’t believe his eyes when he discovered he had matched the first five numbers in the September 22, 2000 Big Game drawing to win a $150,000 prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 6, 11, 26, 28, 36 and the Big Money Ball number was 6.

“When I saw the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery ), I thought ‘you have to be kidding me!”‘ Herron said. “I was very shocked!”

Even though he knew immediately that he had won, Herron waited nine months to collect his prize. He added that he “wasn’t in any hurry” to collect his winnings.

Herron purchased the winning Big Game “easy pick” ticket at Harper Center Market, 35411 Harper Ave., in Clinton Township.

The lucky man said he kept the ticket locked in a safe prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters
in Lansing.

The winner, a retail manager for a furniture company who enjoys boating in his free time, said he has no special plans for his winnings at this time.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,700 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
