LANSING, October 12, 2000 — The Michigan Lottery recently unveiled a new feature on its Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery) — a listing of top remaining instant game prizes.
The Lottery introduces between 50 and 60 instant games each year, and almost as soon as each game goes on sale lucky winners all across the state begin claiming prizes. In an effort to keep Lottery players more informed about how many top prizes remain in each game, the Lottery has posted a list of top prizes left for all active instant games on its Web site.
“This new feature is something our players have been asking us to add to the Web site,” Lottery Commissioner Don Gilmer said. “We work very hard to ensure that our Web site has the most up-to-date and useful information on it at all times. Our instant games are very popular with players all across the state. So, when we started getting suggestions from them to include this information on our Web site we responded as quickly as possible.”
The Lottery’s instant games continue to be one of the Lottery’s most popular products. During fiscal year 2000, the Lottery saw a 2.1 percent increase in sales over the previous year.
In addition to the list of top remaining prizes, the Lottery’s Web site features other useful information for Lottery players, including winning numbers for on-line games, instructions on how to play instant games, a list of unclaimed prizes for on-line games, information on current promotions and frequently asked questions about the Lottery and its games, just to name a few.
The Lottery’s Web site debuted on September 22, 1997 and it currently receives an average of 19,150 hits per day.
