LANSING, June 5, 2000 — Kevin Martin of Waterford recently struck it rich after scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Casino Nights" instant ticket to reveal he had won a $10,000 prize!
The 31-year-old winner purchased the lucky ticket at Wine Cellar Party Store, 2425 Voorheis Street, in Pontiac.
"When I scratched the ticket off I could hardly believe my eyes," Martin said. "I was very surprised to have won!"
When not water skiing or riding his dirt bike or "four-wheeler," Martin said he enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games. He added that he has been playing Lottery games for the past 10 years and his favorites are, of course, the instant games!
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, the carpenter said he kept it in his wallet, and hid the wallet in between towels in his house to ensure its safety. Martin said he plans to use his winnings to remodel his home.
"Casino Nights" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
