LANSING, May 13, 2000 — Julie Milenkovski of Windsor, Ontario knew she had won something on The Big Game ticket she purchased — she just wasn’t sure how much! Milenkovski matched the first five numbers in the May 5 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 6, 8, 16, 30, 32 and the Big Money Ball number was 26.
“I saw the winning numbers on the WDIV-TV 4 news,” Milenkovski said. “I knew I had won a prize — I just didn’t know how much. I checked the Michigan Lottery’s Web site (www.state.mi.us/milottery) to find out what I had won. I was shocked to see I had won $150,000! The prize was a lot higher than I thought.”
The Windsor woman said she rarely plays Michigan Lottery games, but had decided to buy a Big Game ticket because the jackpot was so high.
“I don’t play Michigan Lottery games very often,” she said. “I decided to buy a Big Game ticket when I saw how high the jackpot was.”
Milenkovski purchased the winning Big Game “easy pick” ticket at The Cellars, 150 W. Congress Street #12, in Detroit. The lucky lady said she doesn’t yet have any plans for her winnings.
The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide. Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
