LANSING, April 10, 2000 — Kevin Diekevers of Grandville recently experienced a little Lottery luck after scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Red & Black Doubler" instant ticket to reveal he had won a $36,000 top prize!
The 30-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Cadillac West E-Z Mart, 6224 M-115, in Cadillac.
"I scratched off the ticket and stared at it in disbelief," Diekevers said. "I took it to a local store right away to make sure it really was a winning ticket!"
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the winner said he kept it in his wallet to ensure its safety.
When not fishing or hunting, Diekevers said he enjoys playing Lottery games. He said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 12 years and his favorite games are the instant tickets!
The lucky man, who works as a roofer at Diekevers Roofing, said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and purchase a new truck.
"Red & Black Doubler" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
